Dump cost calculator
Start with your load. Add the facility rate and the cost of getting there.
Self-haul or rent a bin?
Enter your written bin quote. The comparison includes only the amounts you enter, not your time or unquoted labour. Use the same tax basis for both options.
What changes the final dump bill?
The same amount of waste can produce different bills depending on the material classification and the facility’s charging method. Check the minimum per trip, weight rate, flat fees, separate item charges and any transaction fee before estimating.
A small load may be billed at the minimum even when its weight-based charge is lower. Multiple trips can trigger the minimum repeatedly. Separating materials can affect classification, but compare any extra trip cost before assuming a saving.
Self-haul, a rented bin and full-service junk removal are different services. Match the material, total weight, included labour and tax basis before comparing their totals.
Start in Canada. Find the right local context.
Explore 5,161 census subdivisions across 10 provinces and 3 territories. The 2021 geography includes municipalities and statistical equivalents; it is not a list of dumps. We keep geographic facts separate from researched facility information.
Canada is the first edition of Dump Cost. All current calculations use CAD. The country-based structure can support future editions with their own sources, currencies and facility rules. No US coverage is claimed in this release.

Dump cost questions
Is the calculator showing a local dump price?
Custom starting values are illustrative. Enter your facility’s rate or select a clearly labelled source-checked preset if available. The material name alone does not select a verified tariff.
Does a nearby location mean a nearby dump?
No. Links connect census areas by representative-point distance, not facilities. Confirm the actual disposal address, route and customer eligibility.
Can I calculate weight from volume?
Yes, using your own density assumption. The result remains an estimate: moisture, compaction and material composition affect actual scale weight.
Are dump fees the same as dumpster rental prices?
No. Facility disposal charges do not automatically include a bin, delivery, pickup or labour. Compare the complete entered cost with the same material scope and tax treatment.
